الملخص
هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى فحص المفاهيم البديلة لدى طلبة التعليم العام العمانيين في بعض المفاهيم البيولوجية. ولتحقيق ذلك، تم إعداد اختبار ثنائي الطبقات MCQs في علم الأحياء يتكون من 40 فقرة. وقد تم التحقق من صلاحية الاختبار بواسطة لجنة من الخبراء في تدريس العلوم للتحقق من صلاحيته، في حين أن الثبات الداخلي للاختبار حُسب باستخدام معامل كرونباخ ألفا وبلغت قيمته 0.85. أُجري الاختبار على 1013 طالباً عشوائيًا من أربع محافظات تعليمية في سلطنة عمان خلال السنة الدراسية 2010/2011. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن طلاب التعليم العام العماني يحملون عدداً من المفاهيم البديلة في جميع مجالات علم الأحياء الأربعة: الأنظمة وعمليات الحياة، التكاثر والوراثة، الخلية ووظائفها، والتنوع والتكيف. وبناءً عليه اقترحت الدراسة عدداً من التوصيات بناءً على النتائج.
