الملخص
اقترحت الدراسة استراتيجية جديدة لتعليم الحروف العربية للأطفال في مرحلة ما قبل المدرسة باستخدام أمثال من البيئة المحلية. وُجِد أن المِثال يعكس الخبرة الثقافية للطفل، وهو شكل بسيط من ثقافة الصورة التي شكلت هويته. شملت عينة الدراسة مئةً واثنين من الأطفال تتراوح أعمارهم بين 3 و6 سنوات في الكويت. حدد المؤلف التجارب المعلَّمة في مرحلة ما قبل المدرسة واختار منها ما كان مرتبطاً بالمجتمع التعاوني، ثم طَلَبَ من كل طفل تذكُّر اسم لشيء من المجتمع يبدأ بحرف من الحروف الثمانية والعشرين العربية. ثم سأل المؤلف كل طفل عن جميع الأمثال التي يمكنه اشتقاقها من صورة الحرف، باستخدام تجربة "منزلي" كنموذج. بناءً على الأمثال التي حصل عليها من الأطفال، تمّ بناء قصة متكاملة تُظهر جميع حروف العربية. بناءً على ذلك، يُوصى باستخدام الاستراتيجية المقترحة لتعليم الحروف للأطفال في مرحلة ما قبل المدرسة والابتدائية.
