الملخص
هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تحديد العلاقة بين الإدمان على الهاتف المحمول - كوسيلة اتصال - ومستوى الانتباه لدى السائقين تجاه المركبات والمشاة في عينة من طلاب جامعة الكويت. تكونت عينة الدراسة الحالية من 880 طالبًا من جامعة الكويت، من بينهم 440 طالبًا مدمنين على الهواتف المحمولة. وتم تمييز 440 طالبًا آخرين غير مدمنين على الهاتف المحمول كـ 'استخدام منخفض'. تتراوح أعمارهم بين 18-24 عامًا. استخدمت الباحث/الباحثة: مقاييس الإدمان على الهاتف المحمول والانتباه. وكانت أبرز النتائج: وجود فرق ذا دلالة إحصائية بين متوسط طلاب الجامعة ذوي الاستخدام العالي والمنخفض للمحمول في مقاييس الانتباه وقيادة المركبات وحركة المرور لصالح الطلاب ذوي الاستخدام العالي للهاتف المحمول (القيمة p < 0.01). كما وُجدت علاقة سلبية (p < 0.01) بين درجات الطلاب والاستخدام العالي للهاتف المحمول ودرجاتهم في مقاييس: الانتباه وقيادة المركبات وحركة المرور.
