الملخص: هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى فهم الروابط بين الاتجاهات الدينية (التدين الخارجي، والتدين الداخلي، والتدين الباحث عن المعنى، والتدين المتزمت)، والتواصل بين الجماعات، والتعصب المذهبي، والتحقق مما إذا كانت الاتجاهات الدينية وسيطة في العلاقة بين التواصل والتعصب. شارك في الدراسة عينة من 2498 مواطنًا عمانيًا (متوسط العمر 31 عامًا، الانحراف المعياري 9.9) ينتمون إلى طوائف البِدَة، السنة، أو الشيعة، وقد أجيبوا على استبيان لقياس المتغيرات. أشارت النتائج إلى أن التدين المتزمت والتدين الخارجي والتدين الداخلي كانت مرتبطة بشكل إيجابي بالتعصب المذهبي. علاوة على ذلك، كان التدين الباحث عن المعنى والتواصل بين الجماعات مرتبطين سالبًا بالتعصب المذهبي، ووجدنا أن التوجهات الدينية الباحثة عن المعنى والمتزمت وسيطة في الارتباط بين التواصل والتعصب المذهبي. واستنتجت الدراسة أن التعصب المذهبي يمكن تفسيره إلى حد كبير بموجب التدين المتزمت والتدين الخارجي، وأن التوجهات الدينية الباحثة عن المعنى والمتزمت هي وسيطة في علاقة التواصل بالتعصب المذهبي.
