Dhofar University

Dhofar University (DU) is a not-for-profit private university in Salalah (Dhofar Governorate), founded by Ministerial Decree No. 5/2004. It opened its doors in September 2004 and is governed by a Board of Trustees. DU follows an American-style credit system with tiered awards (diploma → bachelor; selected master’s), designed to feed the region’s economy and Oman’s national priorities. du.edu.om

Identity, Mission & Recognition

DU’s mission is to provide quality teaching and learning, support research in an environment conducive to creativity and innovation, and engage with the community. Foundation (Preparatory) Studies

Most new students enter via the Centre for Preparatory Studies (CPS) / Foundation Program, which builds English, Mathematics, IT, and study skills. Placement tests in these areas determine direct entry vs. Foundation coursework. du.edu.om

Admissions — What to Expect

Undergraduate admission considers your General Education Certificate (or equivalent) plus placement tests in English, Math, and IT. Postgraduate criteria vary by program but generally require an accredited bachelor’s and English proficiency.
